My Story, Eh?
Hailing from Vancouver, Canada, I was raised in a family of tech geeks (my house was the first on my block to get dial-up internet!). Early on, my fascination with marketing took root, winning a 7th-grade public speaking competition with a speech on the power of advertising. The allure of Mad Men fueled teenage dreams of becoming a copywriter on Madison Avenue, but it was the advent of inbound and digital marketing that led me to the sweet spot where my passions for marketing technology and performance marketing converged.
Today I specialize in B2B demand generation, account-based marketing, and lifecycle revenue marketing. I’ve worked with several organizations to help them shift from a purely traditional marketing mix to incorporate digital and better understand (and improve) marketing ROI. I took the long, messy, and mistake-riddled route to get where I am today and I created my blog to teach you what I found works from my years of trial and error.
If you’re looking for guidance from someone who has been in your shoes you’re in the right place. I cover marketing best practices, marketing technology reviews, and share hard lessons learned from over a decade in B2B marketing.
My goal is to help those in B2B marketing find their sense of creativity and purpose, foster an innovative approach, and maximize their potential – in and out of the workplace. I want to empower you to get ahead in your B2B marketing career by wholeheartedly loving what you do.
A few fun facts about me: I am a mom of two, certified yoga instructor, soccer player and a novice fitness competition champ. When I’m not working, writing, or breaking a sweat, you’ll find me with my kids and two pugs, or sipping wine on my patio in my Denver, Colorado home.
I love to help others unlock the joy in their day-to-day nine-to-five by turning the daily grind into a successful and satisfying endeavor. Because B2B does not mean boring to boring! Authenticity, emotion, and human connection are critical to modern B2B success.
A marketing thought leader, Forbes Communication Council member, and contributor, I’ve published and been featured in articles covering marketing trends and best practices with readership upwards of 10K/post. Take a look at my blog to see some of my latest musings.
